Since the first earthquake hit on 21 November, over 400 aftershocks followed. Though the government has lifted the emergency status, thousands are still living in shelters. Our team on the ground has been distributing basic relief kits to those in need since the earthquake hit.
Besides distributing basic relief kits, we are also continuously doing on-the-ground assessment to find out how best to help the community. We have been visiting the houses of our beneficiaries; talking to health workers, community leaders, families of our sponsorship students, and social worker friends who have been tirelessly providing support for the people affected by the earthquake.

Continued support for the people affected
We are grateful that we have received funding to continue supporting the community in the coming months.
We will continue supporting those who are severely affected by the earthquake with focus on: healthy pregnancy for pregnant mothers, healthy development of babies, the well-being of the elderly ensuring students stay in school.
