PRISCILLA EDUCATION CENTRE EAST BALI CLOSED DUE TO MT AGUNG VOLCANO

Bali has been on the edge in recent weeks. The threat level from the Mt Agung Volcano was raised to MAXIMUM and hundreds of volcanic EARTHQUAKES BEGAN TO RATTLE THE AREA ON A DAILY BASIS. The PEC classroom is part of the RUMAH SEHAT CLINIC facility which is now a evacuee center.

The PEC was established to assist unemployed youth to be trained in basic English & Computer skills to seek employment in the local Hotel & Tourist Industry. These are comments from the Amed area where there are up to 180 hotels. The hotels are now empty. There are about 20 tourists left in Amed. This situation has a large impact on the local economy & means the PEC students are directly affected. The people in this area work in tourism  now face the fact they will not have a pay cheque.
