The Glen Innes Wraps with Love Ladies group support Priscilla’s Foundation by producing Bennie’s , Trauma Teddies as well as Wraps for a children’s cancer ward in Jakarta. We have just received this response from a box recently sent to Indonesia.
Thanks Don for organizing the goodies for the children – wonderful! Yes Australia Post has already informed me that a box is on the way.
I am not sure when I will be able to visit the hospitals again as both Cipto and Dharmais are seeing suspected Covid cases and have set up isolated wards to treat Covid patients. At Dharmais they have also set up a Covid testing tent in the carpark (see attached picture) for people who have been referred to Dharmais by other hospitals to screen for cancer. In addition, patients with cancer (already being treated at Dharmais) need to be tested for Covid every time they come to Dharmais for chemotherapy whether they are treated as inpatients or outpatients.
Tini, our volunteer at Dharmais, can only meet the parents of the children in the carpark to reimburse invoices or bring chemo medication that they need. Many medications are currently not available as Covid has impacted the importation of drugs needed for chemotherapy. We have provided Tini with protective clothing for when she meets the parents. Salam Hangat ( Kind Regards )
