Each year, between 40,000 to 70,000 people are human trafficked in Indonesia, with the majority ending up in sexual exploitation and forced prostitution. The average age is 12-14 years old when girls enter the sex industry and are sold for as little as 50,000 rupiah (approx$5). In response to this problem, the House of Grace was established to restore the lives of girls that have been rescued from this terrible situation.
Yayasan Rumah Kasih Karunia (the House of Grace) has taken possession of its House. Renovations will be completed and the first residents will enter in mid- to late-November. We are delighted that our residents, the survivors of sexual exploitation, will be welcomed by a House Mother, who will take care of their needs. One of the comfortable and safe places inside the house is the Priscilla Lounge, supported strongly by the Priscilla Hall Memorial Foundation. While being resident in the house, these ladies will receive counselling by the House of Grace Counsellor, social training and employment skills. Over the year, each young women will have the confidence and capability to reintegrate back into her community with a new hope and strong support network through the House of Grace Social Worker
