FMCH INDONESIA DISTRIBUTE FIVE HUNDRED CLOTH MASKS TO THE EAST INDONESIA

The distribution of cloth masks and hygiene packages would not be possible if not for the support of the Priscilla Hall Memorial Foundation. FMCH Indonesia would like to thank The Priscilla Hall Memorial Foundation  for continuing supporting our programs.

The spread of the Coronavirus has reached all provinces in Indonesia, including East Nusa Tenggara Province. Although the positive case of COVID-19 are not too high, the NTT Government continues to issue advice to the community to abide by COVID-19 preventative health protocols. These include continuing to use cloth masks and maintaining cleanliness.

Conditions have had an impact on the people who are assisted by FMCH Indonesia living in two remote villages, Nunleu Village and Mio Village. Children, parents and adults are required to wear cloth masks when leaving the house or in the fields. The village government also prohibits activities that mobilise large crowds in one place. If violated, the community would be liable to sanctions / disbanded.

For this reason, FMCH Indonesia has contributed to the prevention of COVID-19. They have distributed 511 cloth masks and hygiene packages that contain hand-washing soap, detergent and antiseptic liquid; and provided education about COVID-19 to children and families to help promote a healthy lifestyle. The cloth masks are produced by the FMCH Indonesia Skill Team.

The distribution of cloth masks and hygiene packages in Nunleu Village was carried out three times on 16, 20 and 31 May 2020, some delayed due to unfavorable weather conditions such as rain accompanied by strong winds. The distribution of masks and hygiene packages in the village of Mio took place on May 24, 2020.

“Thank you FMCH Indonesia for sharing the cloth masks and hygiene packages to the people of Mio village. We were greatly helped, because we did not have the help of masks like this. I hope that the people here can obey to wear masks and maintain cleanliness so there is no positive case of COVID-19. Once again, thank you.” Mrs. PDT Diana Rs Oematan, S.Th (Priest of Mio Church)
