Last year PHMF were able to nominate two YUM Pre School teachers to attend a First Aid Training. Happy to note these comments in the YUM 2019 Annual Report.
This year there were two exciting activities at YUM Preschool. Through the init iative of Mr. Don Hall from the Priscilla Hall Memorial Foundation and fully supported by ANZA (Australian and New Zealand Association) Jakarta, YUM was able to send two preschool teachers for First Aid Training for Child and Infant, level 1, a full day course organized by SOS Medika International. Along with teachers from other schools, Miss Heti and Miss Desy not only learnt about the theories of administering First Aid but also had an opportunity to put it into practice under the supervision of experienced tutors. This course has helped teachers engage more confidently with children and infants, as they work closely with them on a daily basis. Furthermore, YUM’s teachers shared about First Aid with all the parents at a Parenting Workshop. It is imperative for parents and adults to know what to do when an accident or an emergency occurs.
