Preparing Youth With Job Seeking Skills

The Job Seeking Skills workshop is aimed to help VTC students who are graduating high school to be more prepared for employment. Due to the pandemic, we had been unable to run these workshops for a while. Therefore, this year the workshop was open not only for our active students but also for the alumni. The aim of this workshop is for the students to learn how to make an attractive curriculum vitae, a persuasive application letter and prepare themselves for an interview.

Two workshops have been organised since the beginning of the year. First in January, for the students from the October – December 2022 term, and second in May, for the students from the January – April 2023 term. In total, 68 students attended the sessions.

Let us hear what they have to say about it:

This is the first time I learn about job seeking. After the workshop, I feel more confident in applying for my next job. I learned about ASC (Attitude, Skills, and Competencies) that can be useful for my entire life. Thank you for the opportunity.

I completed my English course last year. But because I had another activity at school, I was not able to attend the workshop. From this workshop, I understand what kind of standard a job recruiter is looking for. The information given is easy to understand.

I learned how to prepare myself for an interview. Starting from the outfit that I will wear to the leg position during the interview. The tips and tricks given by the speaker makes me more ready to apply for a job. I hope all the participants of this workshop will get the job that they want.
