Wednesday, February 14, 2020: A total of 75 young women in Lanu Village, Amanatun Selatan-Nusa Tenggara Timur District West Timor celebrated Valentine’s Day by attending the Days for Girls training program. This was organised by the Foundation for Mother and Child Health Indonesia, with the aim that these young women would love and understand self, especially the needs of the body.
For one and a half hours, Ms. Delsy, a Yayasan Balita Sehat (FMCH) Trainer gave counselling about reproductive health, calculation of fertility and menstruation period, gender equality. She continued with the distribution of washable pads packages, and by providing information on instructions for use and how to clean the pads. This eco-friendly dressing is provided by Australian Days for Girls Chapters, The Priscilla Hall Memorial Foundation, and the Rotary Club of Glen Innes, who coordinate the project.
