The Foundation funded Ester’s Rotary Exchange when she was hosted by Glen Innes Rotarians & friends .We ( Frances & Don Hall ) are about to visit Jakarta & it will be nice to catch up with Ester who has just replied with some interesting news for her Australian friends .
I just had email notification from Australia Awards Scholarship a few days ago. I regret to inform you that my application for the Australia Awards Scholarship this year intake was not successful. A large number of applications around the world competing for 250 scholarships and the applications were sorted according to geographic location, gender and focus of study. Thank you for your support for the entire process. I will keep pursuing my dream and will apply for another scholarship.
I applied for METI Japan Internship Program in the middle of June and went for two interviews. This internship in Japan is fully sponsored by the government of Japan (Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry) for people around the world. This is a wide range of internship fields and one of them is civil engineering. The first interview was in English and Bahasa with an Indonesian and I passed it. The second interview was in English with a Japanese people, named Mrs. Namekata. The interviews went well. I will receive the result from them by email or phone through July and middle of August. Fingers crossed!
Thank you for Rotary’s support. It means a lot. Hope to catch up with you when you get here in Indonesia.
Best Regards, Esteriana Ekawati
