Below are the stories from Yuni and Hafiz, students of the YUM VTC Computer class. Yuni is one of YUM’s sponsorship beneficiaries; she has been supported by YUM since she was in primary school. YUM’s sponsorship program is aimed to provide families with financial support to cover the children’s education cost. It covers school books, stationery, uniforms and fees at a local school. And it also includes bi-annual medical check-up and parenting sessions. They also have the opportunity to enroll in any VTC classes for free.
“My name is Yuni and I have been sponsored by YUM since I was in 4th grade. At YUM, I have access to be a member of the Community Library and the Tutoring & Remedial class. When YUM’s staff told me that I could also enroll in the VTC Computer class, I was so excited. I want to learn computer since so long ago, but yet have no opportunity to do it. I always came to the courses on time because I do not want to miss any classes. I finished the course with good grades. I cannot wait to continue my class to the intermediate level.”
“I am Hafiz and I enrolled in Basic Computer class with Mr. Deden as my tutor. Learning about computers is very fun and interesting. After 3 months, I am now able to make an invitation letter and graphics. I am so proud of my achievement. I will continue to learn how to operate computers by continuing in the Intermediate level. Thank you very much YUM!”
We are grateful for the great support from Priscilla Hall Memorial Foundation for YUM’s Vocational Training Centre, especially for the Computer Class. With your kind support, YUM is able to provide a comfortable space, computers and qualified tutors for the less fortunate children so they can learn about computers for free. Thanks PHMF!
