FUN AND EXCITING GAMES WITH UWCSEA STUDENTS

This March, several students from United World College South East Asia (UWCSEA) Singapore visited YUM’s project site in Cipanas, West Java for a couple of days. Their purpose was to work with the community in the area through YUM’s existing projects.  Some of their activities consisted of doing home visits to beneficiaries’ houses, taking part in the organic farm workshop, participating in library activities like playing music, art & craft and dance club. And not to forget: assisting the English tutor at YUM’s Vocational Training Centre.

Mr. Cecep started the session by distributing papers consisting of 30 questions with “Getting to Know Each Other” to all of the students. After the introduction from UWCSEA students, VTC students continue to introduce themselves too.  The atmosphere was very fun for everyone, for some of the students that was their first time having an interaction with foreign students.

The second session was games. Mr. Cecep gave each group 9 alphabet letters “AEIHOSTUW”. From these letters, the students must make an English word and present it in front of the others. They only had ten seconds each to figure out a word.  If a student cannot give any word, he or she must leave the group. At the end of the game only two students competed: they were Rina, VTC students and Arthur, UWCSEA student. The game was won by Arthur. During the games, the students put their focus so deep but they also cannot stop laughing as they enjoy the session very much.
